Year 1583, Republic of the Three Leagues. When the Inquisition arrives in a valley where religious freedom reigns, the healers Miriana and Sophia are forced to follow the customs of the Catholic faith to avoid being accused of witchcraft. Will that be enough to save them?
In 1583, Leonardo, a young priest in training, is sent by Achille to assist Giovanni, an official in a village within the Free State of the Three Leagues, where freedom of worship exists. Despite the coexistence of Catholics and Protestants, some fear “evil.” Achille decides to send the Cardinal to restore order. Giovanni warns Sofia of impending danger, while Miriana seeks to protect her. When Lavinia’s newborn becomes a pretext to accuse Sofia of witchcraft, Miriana and Leonardo unite to save her.
